News and Information

  • Our Field Trip will be to the pumpkin patch on October 25! More information and permission slips will be sent home soon.
  • READING CHALLENGE- Keep up the good reading!
  • Be sure to save your BOX TOPS and send them to school with your child.  The class that collects the most wins a prize and the money raised goes to buy things for our school!  Win-Win!!
Language Workshop
We continued our Author Study over Eric Carle this week. We read “The Grouchy Ladybug” and “The Very Lonely Firefly.” We practiced telling the characters and setting. We also are still practicing capitalization and punctuation.uj7777;’’;’’’’

                                                                  
Math Workshop
This week we continued our module on Sums and Differences to 10. We focused on finding missing addends and missing totals. Students practiced drawing math pictures, writing number sentences, and making number bonds. We tested over Topic D.
Writing Workshop
This week we went through the writing process as a class. We wrote about the solar eclipse. Students practiced prewriting, drafting, editing, and publishing.
Word Study
Group A worked on words that start with the “h” “sh” and “ch” sounds.
Group B worked on the the “-ap” and “-ag” word families.
Next Week
In language, we will finish our author study on Eric Carle. We will also keep working on our first module for math, Sums and Differences to 10. In reading, we will be doing an Eric Carle project. Next week in writing, students will be working on their own narratives by going through the writing process.

Important Dates
Sept. 26 - FBLA Hurricane Relief Fundraiser (Students get in free to the HS Volleyball game.)
Sept. 29 - Volunteer Training  9-9:30 in the FEMA shelter.  Call the office for more information.
Oct. 5 - Picture Day
