PIZZA NIGHT FOR DADS AND KIDS

  • READING CHALLENGE- Keep on reading!
  • Be sure to save your BOX TOPS and send them to school with your child.  The class that collects the most wins a prize and the money raised goes to buy things for our school!  Win-Win!!
Language Workshop
We continued our Author Study over Eric Carle this week. We read “Pancakes, Pancakes” and learned about the characters and setting in the story.  We also practiced using the correct punctuation at the end of sentences.
Math Workshop
This week we continued our module on Sums and Differences to 10. We focused on solving story problems. The students practiced reading the story, drawing a picture to match and writing the number sentence to find the missing part.
Writing Workshop
This week we started our first unit on narrative writing.  We learned to prewrite and use our writing binders to keep organized.
Word Study
Group A worked on words that start with the “j” “h” and “ch” sound.
Group B worked on the the “-an” and “-ad” word families.
Next Week
In language, we will continue our author study on Eric Carle. We will also keep working on our first module for math, Sums and Differences to 10. In reading, we will review and assess over punctuation and capitalization.  On Wednesday, we will attend “Day on the Farm” hosted by the High School FFA.

Important Dates
Sept. 19 - Cox Care Mobile
Sept. 20 - FFA “Day on the Farm”- be sure to wear tennis shoes and comfy clothes.
Sept. 29 - Volunteer Training  9-9:30 in the FEMA shelter.  Call the office for more information.
